The Significance of Dialogue and Revealing "Live Material"

Being in true dialogue with a peer group in which we are affected by the live material that is coming through each other is an essential key for fundamental change. Live material is what we straightforwardly and truthfully feel, think, and see in response to our inner and outer environment. Revealing live material is sharing our intimate here-and-now experience, with each person openly acknowledging what's happening inside of them in relation to themselves and each other. Sharing it, when done in an enlightened process, is real communication, in which we touch and are touched by the other. Revealing it and being effected by it is giving up control and letting life be what it is. It is an act of love and trust and can transform our whole experience. This material may include unfounded fears and mistrust we hold toward ourselves and others, as well as clear insight. It contains both what is sane and insane in us.

This is a process of letting go of one's limited concept of what is, and opening up (on very visceral levels) to other input. In the process, any obstacles (limiting decisions) we have placed in the way become unearthed so we can clear them. It moves us from our isolated individual experience (in which we can manipulate, shift and change our perceptions to support our made-up concepts) to actual engagement with the here-and-now in the form of meeting with another, where our experience meets with the other. When that happens it is much more difficult to avoid that which is.

This releases significant and crucial information, opens up communication, and when untangled, leads to unconditional love. It enables each of us to receive new and much more accurate information about how reality is, because it is coming in from more than just our own perspective. I think this is a major way the Divine reveals itself through us. If pursued, whole new worlds can open up. It is allowing the very ground we're standing on to shift.

The way in which the live material is communicated and received is vitally important, because it can be very powerful material and can be misused in ways that leads to further separation rather than coming together and opening things up. It takes a great deal of strength, skill, courage, goodwill and sanity to really be in dialogue. It has to be oriented toward the knowledge of one's own and the other's divinity, and the divine connection between those involved.
